I have gone to Dr. Zenker for hearing aid services since 2017. In 2020, he referred me to an Ear Nose and Throat surgeon after noticing a small change in my hearing in one ear. A subsequent MRI revealed that I had a Vestibular Schwannoma which is a brain tumor on the hearing nerve. Since Vestibular Schwannoma tumors typically grow very slowly, the doctors at the Michigan Ear Institute were surprised that Dr. Zenker recognized the symptoms so soon. As a result, the tumor was successfully removed early and the worst symptoms were avoided. Left untreated, Vestibular Schwannomas can be very severe and even fatal. Dr Zenker is wonderful. I’ve been going to him for years. Being younger and in need of hearing aids was a difficult decision but he was very thorough and very patient with all my questions and I am so thankful for his care and that he chooses to stay right here in our little town. Years later, I’m on my 4th pair, soon to be 5th. He is very affordable and has some pretty state of the art equipment. It’s nice to have an audiologist provide my care and who makes sure my hearing aids are tuned to my exact hearing loss. He does not overcharge his patients and he keeps his prices affordable. Dr Zenker has always seen me whenever I have an issue with my hearing aids. He is also trained to clean my ears of wax so I hear better, and worked with me on affording the hearing aids. Highly recommend.

My dad has severe hearing loss and bought new hearing aids in Petoskey. Dr. Zenker handles Starkley hearing aids up here in the Soo and has been much more helpful than Petoskey in getting the right settings, cleaning and making sure they are working properly. He really cares about his patients.
