Athens Regional Radiology

I had a great experience at Athens Regional Radiology. The staff were very professional, and kind, and made me feel comfortable throughout the scan. The process was smooth, and they explained everything clearly. Highly recommend it for anyone needing radiology services.

Absolutely HORRENDOUS!! The radiologist who read my scan did an absolute terrible job! I’ve had my cervical MRI reviewed by two other radiologists, and they both have said my neck is FAR FAR WORSE than what is described by the Piedmont radiologist at the Athens hospital location! Not to mention, when I contacted my insurance company about why they claim was not showing up. They told me to call Piedmont, so I did. And now Piedmont is telling me that they DO NOT HAVE ANY RECORD OF MY DATE OF SERVICE WHEN I GOT MY MRI!!! So I have the results, but they are showing that I did not visit the hospital that day even though I paid $562 in co-pay/coinsurance….

My experience getting--or rather not getting--CT scans at Piedmont. The 1st time. I explain I'm a tough stick but no worries, I have a port. Like so many facilities, I am made to feel guilty for asking--they're professionals after all--and am warned that waiting for port access will take a long time. I reluctantly agree to get stuck. It was clear these people were novices. One young man admitted to being a trainee. I was stuck eight times but to no avail. And not just stuck but sat while the "sticker" fished around. They finally agree to get a person trained to access the port. She comes in, rips the package open, and BEGINS TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. I just know this will not end well and it doesn't. Four attempts and she cannot get a draw... from a port that I knew functioned fine. Belie

Uninterested, unwilling, unhelpful representative. Zero transparency for self-pay pricing information - not only was I expected to know each medical code for ONE procedure; but, I must know what I couldn't possibly know. After being penalized for not knowing medical codes I learn that it takes 24 to 48 hours to receive pricing information. I don't have a medical coding degree and I was treated like I was an inconvenience. Piedmont Athens Radiology can't be trusted with a process this shady and convoluted.

Amanda and Nicole in the scheduling department were extremely helpful and pleasant to speak with. I really appreciate their professionalism and patience as we were trying to navigate an appointment for a workers comp claim!
