Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Brenner Children’s Emergency Department

Used yo believe in this ER. They had always done a great job. Took my 13 year old in yesterday and it was a ridiculous waste of time. Gave her a pregnancy test and a pepcid cocktail. No answers on the cause of her sickness and pain, just here take this and go. Was told we would have further tests but never happened. What in the world? Oh and had to use the light on our cell phones to get a urine specimen due to no lights in the bathroom. Really????

The nurses and physicians did a phenomenal job taking care of my son. They were all so kind. Thank you all for choosing to care for the children in our community. I know it isn't an easy job but you are all so appreciated!

Don't bring yourself here. Whenever THEY feel like you are treated, they will discharge you in the middle of the night even though you feel bad. If you tell them that, they don't care and will have rent-a-cops bounce you out the door while you're still needing treatment. Bad bad bad. This is not care this is the gustopo. No accountability, and no compassion to care. The place is disgusting and falling apart. You'd might as well get a ride to duke 1.5 hours away tha. Waste any time here.

They are sorry as hell. Niece was taken to get tested for flu and RSV. Had X-rays done and then sent home. Baby had a horrendous cough. Week later found out she has RSV!!! This place literally plays with our children’s lives. Mind you she is only 6 WEEKS OLD!!!

I used to think this hospital was a good place to take your children, it is not the service they provide is poor and while I was at the ER with my child I saw something that is honestly very questionable , besides the amount of time it took for them to attend us 4+ hours. I saw there was a child that for some reason had to be restrained, they were having a hard time and you could hear the child’s cries through out the hall ways. Shortly after the child was quiet and you could literally hear medical staff laughing and making fun the patient. Absolutely horrifying to know that this is what happens at children’s hospital.
