Bronson South Haven Emergency Department and Level IV Trauma Center

I have cancer so I end up in the ER alot. I drive 25 miles to get to South Haven Bronson even though I live 2 miles from a much bigger hospital. No matter what situation I have this place and the people have always been 100% fantastic. A couple of the times they had to send me to Kalamazoo because it was beyond their scope but not their fault I am complicating. I can't say enough good things about this place.

I came in with a pain level well over my physical limit (or from a medical point of view a 10/10) and they continued to observe me and do other things first before easing my pain level. At least an hour they left me this way. I felt extreme suffering and with a little more time likely would have blacked out. I have been to other ER hospitals before that get me into a room and start treating before registration is even done and taking care of the pain is first priority. Bedside manners (except one very kind woman) were awful. They did not care about my mental state, comfort or if they were actively causeing more pain. Woman in charge of CT scanning was very kind as well. Two nurses and the doctor treating me were completely unsympathetic.

Had an appointment at 7am, got there 5-10 mins early and checked in at the front desk. Was the first one in the waiting area. Did my E check-in the night before so I was all set… I proceeded to sit in the waiting area for 30 mins before finally getting annoyed and approached the front desk again where she must’ve forgot about me. She wanted to know if I’ve even checked in yet. Showed her my pager and number and then got the ball rolling immediately. Pager buzzed right away and walked over to registration, and then pager buzzed immediately after that and went back to get my blood drawn - which only took 5 mins. I ended up being late to work when I scheduled my appointment in order to get done before work. I would have had ample time to get to work on time for what I had to have done. Ver

I had an accident at home causing a large laceration above my right eye. For a country hospital, this place is very professional and up to date. In no time, my laceration was sutured in a very caring way. Six weeks later, and it's healing wonderfully. I doubt the laceration will show when fully healed.

great job ignoring your new patient and concerns regarding health... also I was informed I should have been x-rayed from my husband strangling me ummmm dude you didn't do anything but try to overstep my MD and ignore the help I did need. NEVER again! this place is one of the biggest jokes. however your social worker was great for resources so that's a good thing.
