Carroll Primary Care - Eldersburg Office

I’ve been a loyal patient at Carroll Primary Care, PA for 20 years. Today, I called to schedule an appointment and was told that I’m now considered a new patient because I haven’t had a visit in the past two years, even though they’re still listed as my primary care provider in my insurance plan, and I’ve stayed in touch with my physician via phone and email. Apparently, they’ve adopted a policy where if you haven’t had a billable visit recently, you lose your patient status and can no longer see your primary care physician. I was told there’s nothing they can do due to this policy. I’ve since transferred all my medical records and will be moving to a provider that prioritizes patient care over billing practices. Disappointed to see a long-standing relationship end this way.

Beware- this practice will make errors on their medical codes causing your insurance to not cover certain things making it a nightmare to get straightened out. Multiple attempts to fix the issue fell on def ears. Would not recommend this practice.

I have been going here for years without any warning The primary care doctor just disappeared and apparently my appointment. It was the last day she was available. She gave me no warning, and I had to fight with them to get my records.And while I was standing there, the front desk was answering the phone, giving every person that called a different answer about.Why there was not going to be a doctor there anymore And basically, they were saying, for 3 months out we won't have a doctor but they weren't being quite clear about why that she was just leaving then they kind of said she was going back to school.I said you need to be clear.I have a serious medical issue.You're not going to have a doctor i'm going to have to switch.And they got very nasty and said, fine.If that's how you feel. Have been a patient there for over 25 years, my original Doctor was the founder, James Foresburg, the absolute best, May he rest in peace. Didn't go to the office for 5 years after he passed, found PA Melanie Greenburg, who was outstanding. Called today to get my 26 year old son in for pre-op for emergency surgery. Told he was not a patient (because he went to pediatrics prior to the emergency), and they would not see him. Told him to go to urgent care. This used to be a family practice, not anymore, Dr. Foresburg is rolling over in his grave. Absolutely shameful.

I have been going to this office for close to 30 years. I have never had an issue with the front desk when I call in. And if I need a same day appt, they are good to find me one. Although the front desk has several new people, they are learning, and succeeding. The kicker is, as a patient, I must have patience bc they get busy and can only handle one person or one call at a time due to privacy laws.
