Dr. Eke, MD at Children's at Chamblee-Brookhaven Urgent Care deliberately lied to my wife with what seems to be malicious intent. She insisted - with obvious vindictive satisfaction - that because our children are unvaccinated, she was somehow "required" to prescribe DOUBLE the normal dose of antibiotics for a routine ear infection. This is a flat-out, shameless, medically baseless fabrication told to a parent she assumed was too uninformed to know better. She picked the wrong one today. There is zero clinical guideline, zero medical rationale, and zero scientific basis for doubling antibiotics based on vaccination status. None. She invented her (assumedly) politically punitive nonsense on the spot, apparently to punish my wife for our medical choices. This is beyond bad medicine! It is
We come here often with our two kids, and I was beyond impressed with this visit. The wait time was night and day compared to past visits. Having four doctors on staff instead of the usual two made such a difference. We weren’t stuck there all day waiting to be seen, which means everything when you have a sick child. The doctor who saw us (and I sincerely apologize that I can’t remember her name) was truly amazing. She took the time to really listen to my concerns about my daughter and the ongoing ear infections she continues to have, even after recent tube surgery. I explained what has worked for her in the past and what hasn’t, and she genuinely took that into account when prescribing medication instead of relying solely on textbook treatment. Not every patient fits into the same box, a
I sat at this urgent care with my daughter for over 1.5hrs. We saw a girl puke on the floor. They left it there for nearly 10 minutes as all the customers tracked it all over the waiting room. Finally one of the employees cleaned it up using paper towels and a broom. The same broom they use for the office. After about 10 more minutes, they half way clean it over with bleach wipes using the end of a broom handle. Judging by the way they handled this spoil, I wouldn't trust anything to be sanitary in the office. This is an infection control nightmare! Extremely substandard.
My daughter has constant ear infections, so I already figured it was that. The staff was extremely helpful and provided me with the support I needed. They even ensure she had a dose because we thought there was a delay in my insurance and provided her with the first dose of medicine. They researched and treated me with respect and dignity. They took the time to ensure my daughter would be able to get her medicine. Even gave a tip about Publix pharmacy and some antibiotics. They were extremely thorough and showed great care for their patients and families.
We got there right before closing, the room was full of patients and it was the day after Christmas. There were so many reasons why our care could have been rushed or we could have been treated rudely, but that definitely was not the case. The entire staff from check in to check out treated us kindly, respectfully and gave us all the answers we needed. I would definitely recommend this clinic when your child’s primary care physician isn’t an option. They are truly amazing! Just the type of people needed to deal with sick kids and worried parents.
