Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU Children’s Pavilion & Children’s Tower

We traveled 2 hours for my son’s surgery, and both of our kiddos got the BEST care. Starting with the sibling center- our childcare bailed at the last minute, but Sara really made our daughter enjoy her morning while her brother was in the surgical wing. What a great service to provide families! When we arrived to the surgical area, they seriously thought of everything. His bed was prepped with toys based off his age before we even arrived. He loved “driving” around the halls- it was so nice to know we did not have to keep a toddler confined to a bed while waiting.

They saved my child's life twice. My son was rushed once via ambulance from fredericksburg to Richmond because they couldn't treat my son in fredericksburg. Within five minutes of at Children's Hospital, they had him stabalized. Second time I just took him back to Richmond rather dealing with the incompetent doctors in Fredericksburg. Children's Hospital is amazing and they treated us so wonderfully!

If I could rate ChoR 100/10 I would. We had a week long EMU (epilepsy monitoring unit) stay this past week and every single person we came into contact with was beyond incredible. The thought they put into the programs they offer while inpatient (art therapy, hospital education program, child life services, the zone (for siblings) ) is absolutely incredible. Our kiddo was on 24/7 EEG monitoring and couldn’t leave the unit but was consistently visited and cared for beyond expectation. All of the doctor's that we have gone to see are excellent. We and my grandson are treated with courtesy and respect. We have been to the ER twice and we're treated extremely well. The only difficulty we have had occasionally is finding a parking space in the parking garage.

Dr. Peterson is amazing!! She has helped my daughter in so many ways! And all the doctors and nurses were very accommodating while my daughter stayed there.
