Dr. Cristafaro was incredibly professional throughout my labrum surgery and recovery process. His expertise and precision not only ensured a smooth procedure but also allowed me to return to playing football at my highest ability. Thanks to his skillful approach, I have no visible scars, and my shoulder feels as good as new. I’m grateful for his dedication to his patients and his commitment to excellence in sports medicine. Dr Nelson was excellent in every way!! Our son got seriously injured over a holiday weekend and was three hours away. I called the service and Dr Nelson spent much time giving me advice on what to do. I’m talking multiple phone calls on a Saturday and Sunday with me and my son when the office was closed. Then we miraculously got him into surgery on Monday which was a holiday and his day off which is why he was free. He was thoughtful, patient and took great care to explain everything to all of us before, during and after. Surgery was long and hard but it went very well. We recommend him with great enthusiasm and we’re so glad we trusted him with our son!!!

Dr. Nelson has one of the worst bedside manners I have ever experienced. He interrupted me multiple times when I asked questions, told my daughter she was asking questions he had already answered (he hadn’t), and left her crying after we left the office. At one point I asked him why he was offended by our questions. The reason for the questions? He didn’t seem interested in giving actual advice on recovery. His approach was sort of “do what you want and it’ll heal eventually.” I finally got him to give a recommendation at the end… by asking questions!!! Absolutely terrible experience and we would never return or recommend him to anyone.

Dr Nelson and the staff are incredible especially the sweetest nurse ever, Nora. my son fell off the monkey bars at camp and had a buckle fracture of his radius and ulna. We went to urgent care at a different group. We are Northwell patients but their urgent care had no X-ray tech that day. The urgent care dr was nice but had no business working with pediatrics. She would only tell me my sons arm was broken and wouldn’t cast it and made me very fearful saying it needed to be “set by a surgeon”. I asked to see the x ray and upon seeing it it looked like a simple fracture not at all as complicated as she made it sound. I asked if he’d need surgery and she replied with “there’s always a possibility depending what the orthopedic surgeon says.” She sent my son home with an ace bandage and told

After waiting more than 45 minutes, Dr. Nelson ,appeared with a joking attitude. After repeated jokes, he asked my daughter if she was right-handed or left-handed. When my daughter replied that she was left-handed, he told her : Now I understand that you have so many problems, you are abnormal!!. Then he recommended that she spend a week without physical activity and act like an “old lady” like me. I told him that great geniuses in history have been left-handed but he insisted on saying “ that doesn't make them stop being abnormal”. Our reason for consulting was to see the state of her hand and foot, not to make deductions if my daughters, who listened to him attentively, were according to him, normal or not.
