Edgewater at Waterman Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

I wish I could give this nursing home a zero if you love your loved ones please avoid this nursing home Edgewater in Long Beach California this place need to be shut down and the case manager and employees need to be locked up the way they care for these patients my nephew had a stroke couldn't feed himself they let his food sit up for an hour and a half before anyone feeds him I lives out of town and calls him everyday his family and I send him gifts and things he need items the staff there steals they have stole many times from him his pain pills are not given to him on time he uses the bathroom on himself it be 45 minutes to an hour before he is cleaned up I had to call many times the front desk he'd let me know he been hurting no one answer the buzzer the worker hide from doing their d

I am being generous with a 3-star rating, and that is because the therapy staff are very good (PT, OT). Other than that, horrible experience here for my relative following a hip fracture. First of all she was bleeding from her wound and it went unchanged for 72 hours. The blood was on her floor and all the way down the hallway. I pointed it out to several nurses who all brushed it off. That blood stayed on the floor in the hallway for 5 days (I have pictures of it). I finally got her wound dressed after elevating the situation to the Head Nurse. Then, they wouldn't follow the dressing protocol and deemed it "unnecessary". Another little trick they play is to shut off the call light so it doesn't bother them and then they never return. We actually pulled our relative out before her Medicar

After conducting our own research, and speaking to several people, my sister and I chose Edgewater Health and Rehab at Waterman for our mothers nursing home care. Our case manager Ingrid is absolutely amazing. She is on top of everything all the time and keeps us updated on a regular basis. My moms nurses Robin and Joyce and the other members of the nursing staff treat my mom with respect and dignity. The facility is always clean and offers many activities for the seniors to enjoy. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication and taking great care of our mom! She is very happy there.

The people at Edgewater are great! My mother was admitted awhile ago after an hospilization. She was unable to walk on her own and dementia had set in. She wouldn't eat and stayed in her room. But after a few months at Edgewater, she is doing great. She eats all her meals and socializes with the other residents. She wins quarters at bingo. I couldn't be happier with the way my mother is treated. Ingrid, my mother's case worker, and all the nurses do a great job and truly care for the residents.

Our social care case worker, Sylvia, worked wonders in getting my mother moved from a door bed to a semi-private deluxe room window bed which helped her tremendously in the emotional and mental state of mind. Once in the deluxe semi-private area, her nurses and CNA's were, for the most part wonderful!!! The OT's, PT's, and ST's were all amazing! The kitchen staff was the only drawback since my mother's orders were only occasionally correct. But the quality of the food was better than average. The wound specialists only once reported to us the drain amount of her lungs. The activities were phenomenal for the residents as well as their family members. I wish we would have come here first, instead of the other 2 facilities we had Mom in. This facility is clean, high quality, and wonderful. T
