Dr Chávez is the BEST vet I've come across. He's that old fashioned no nonsense farm vet. Not afraid of handling my temperamental poodle mix who growls and bites. He actually did bite him once and Dr Chávez didn't even flinch! He just got some of that purple disinfecting liquid he uses on the dogs and poured it on his own finger. Then he patted my dog on the head and told him in Spanish, "There there, aren't we friends?" And finished what he was doing then caressed and patted him some more while my dog licked his hand. I was apologizing so much and he just told me it's ok, we're still buddies. He always gives you the best affordable solution using common sense and experience instead of a whole bunch of fancy testing. This is my go to veterinarian in the Calexico area. I've been going to this vet for 14 years. He provides excellent service and reasonable prices. Every visit has cost no more than 400.00 Mexican pesos, including medication I gave him 4 stars because ever since covid started, he jacked up the visits to 500 pesos. Other than that, deeply recommended.
