Cat spay cost $370. 5 days later I called because my cat had a golf ball sized lump develop at the incision site. They could get her in to examine the area but it would cost another $50 just for a 5 minute exam and additionalcosts to follow would be dependent. I've had many cats spayed in the past and none of them reacted like this after surgery. I'd hope a follow up exam to an almost $400 spay should be at no cost, especially because it could potentially be a reaction to the job itself. I am disappointed that it's only about money and not about the wellbeing of the animal itself here at Ferndale Veterinary Hospital.

It’s taken me some time to write this review—not because it isn’t five stars, but because the experience itself was such a difficult one. At the beginning of summer, we learned that our family dog, Taz, likely had cancer and would need to be put down. We split our time between Whatcom and Pierce County, but Ferndale Veterinary has always been our favorite clinic. Unfortunately, we first received the news from another vet, where it was delivered abruptly and without much compassion. They even pressured us to put Taz down immediately. Heartbroken, we decided the very next morning to drive north with Taz for a second opinion from Dr. Johner. They kindly squeezed us in, welcomed us with warmth, and showed us genuine compassion. Caring and attentive. Whether you have a sick pet, a question about unusual behavior, spay or neuter, check ups etc., this clinic can help. We learned how much they care when they helped us manage the passing of one of our older cats. I have nothing but appreciation and respect for the vet and team who work here. Highly recommend.

I recently taken my cat to be seen as she was not eating much or drinking water. Blood work was done showing that her levels were not good. I was given medication to start the next morning. I left the office with my cat and within a hour from being home my cat passed away in my arms. I called the office the next business day to ask if they would give some kind of refund for the medication as it was very expensive and was told that they do not give any refunds for medications but if I wanted to return the medication to their office they would donate it to someone in need. I'm aware that shelters are in need of medication in which I would donate the medication too but I was asking for some kind of refund as I have dealt with another veterinary not from this county whereas they gave a
