For starters, I had assistance from a counselor trying to find my Mom a nursing home. Between the two of us, we contacted maybe a dozen homes. Only four even returned messages. All four had available beds, and all four received referrals. Of those, ONE followed up. I’ve had my Mom living at High Shoals for only a few months, but this professionalism has continued. Not only was the in-processing experience excellent, and the facility very clean, but the staff continues to be top notch. If you find yourself in need of a well-managed, clean, and safe facility for your loved one, I highly recommend High Shoals Health & Rehab.

Caring nurses and staff. They serve the residents with care and compassion. We got introduced to their facility about three years ago when the need for skilled nursing care developed for our loved one(s). We have been well pleased with the care received and continue to receive.

Believe the one star reviews. Neglect, Medication errors, poor hygiene, etc. It was something every day. I shouldn’t have to call and ask why my mom hasn’t received her medications or why she sat in her own urine for 10+ hours at a time or why she had no access to call lights or water. Or one shower in 9 days…or why they NEVER made sure she brushed her teeth in two weeks. My sister and I had to do that every day. What happened to rounding per state guidelines? What happened to actual care or owning up if there was a miss? All they did was get defensive and call my mom a liar. The final straw was when the nurse said “If you don’t like the way I care for your mom, you can take her out of here”. So I did. Thankfully she is now at such a better place and can actually get better. I just f

I would not bring anybody to this facility. We brought my father here expecting rehab potential. Instead, we got neglect. Being left in urine soaked bed clothing for 4+ hours even after pushing the call light 2 to 3 times. Call light left nowhere near him, cold food being left across the room so he can’t get to it. He is a shell of what we brought here. They keep him so doped up that he can’t even participate in rehab. i had reported some concerns to the weekend nurse Lacey and never heard back from any staff until therapy staff reached out to MD. Most staff roll their eyes when anything is brought up. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Do not send your loved one here.

High shoals is a very nice and wonderful place to take your loved ones . My aunt enjoyed everyone there. They took good care of her. The staff is very friendly and works hard each day to take care of the residents.
