Expertise with Empathy: Our experience at the birthing center was phenomenal. The staff was so knowledgeable, warm, and encouraging. The facilities were clean, modern looking, secure, and functional. As a new parent, I felt my concerns were addressed, I felt in control of the process, educated on my choices, and never judged for asking questions. You can tell the staff, from the custodial staff, the nutritional department, security, the medical techs,  the lactation consultants, the nurses, the pediatricians, and the OBs, EVERYONE genuinely puts great care and consideration into everything they do. It sounds unbelievable to even write, but my wife delivered our second child here and this hospital refused to let our friends and family into our room to meet their new family member. Apparently a nurse told them we already had our maximum of three guests inside but when in reality, we had zero. So instead of our newborn being welcomed into the world surrounded by friends and family, they were alone while my wife (who had just delivered) and I were stuck arguing with security and management just to let our family back. The nurses and doctors themselves were competent and kind, but the sheer incompetence and lack of communication from the security and administration soured a ‘core memory’ experience of our lives.
