Johns Hopkins at Sibley Memorial Hospital

Our family member was on Oncology. The care and communication is lacking. No one besides house keeping and dietary came our room for over 6 hours, from 9:30am-3:30pm (after I shared my frustration with the Social Worker). Later we stepped out for an hour for dinner and asked to please call me to discuss before any medications were given only to find out later that medications were given and the nursing team decided not to share all that information when we returned, only part of the information. When I called to ask about it and the reason for giving it, she was condescending and hung up on me. I would think those team members on that unit would have better communication skills when it comes to talking about the death and dying process

For the baby delivery department: the office receptionist and appointment team are horrible. They scheduled us for Friday at 8:00 am for an induction and then Thursday night, they called and asked us why we missed our Thursday appointment... Later, when I called the reception to try to speak to the delivery nurse, the receptionist was very difficult and did not want to link me to the delivery nurse. The receptionist said "I welcome you to give me a bad review on Google."

I’ve been here in the ER lobby of John Hopkins Sibley Memorial Hospital for 5hrs, 2 going on 3 of those hours my sister was sitting in pain( as it got worse over time) and throwing up. I tried asking for the wait time and they couldn’t give me an answer, I tried contacting customer service and it’s closed, I tried reaching someone who’s in charge of the ER and they are not here. I was told I can only make a complaint on Monday because they are closed. This is ridiculous, as I sit here with my sister wishing there was something I could do and seeing other sick and hurt people coming in waiting hours for help and nothing being done about it.

Excellent care is my experience throughout my cancer treatment and beyond. Superb doctors and staff. Extremely well organized.

This hospital and the doctors are gems! I drive 1 hour and 1/2 to get there ! Most hospitals are horrible , but not Sibley it’s a great hospital
