Legit and compassionate. Go above and beyond to help you if you let them and explain. Nurses are great and warm, and will advocate on your behalf if you're slumping into the dumps (shoutout to Brittany, Nikki, and Jeff). They also won't turn any lights on at night to wake you up when doing checks and IV's! The other aides are great and will ask you if you need anything pretty regularly. The sticking team is legit for blood draws, had a couple who were so gentle, i was able to go back to sleep right after the morning draw. Docters are awesome to and definitely experts at their craft here, warm, and compassionate (shoutout to Dr. Marzan, Dr. Barry and Dr. Walz)! I had surgery and was there for 9 days. Not once did I have an issue with anyone. Most the time was great and never had a bad nurse. They are all different. It's the great ones that cause others not to be great but good never the less. If there is a such thing as enjoying being in the hospital, that was as close as it gets. I had no outside contact or visitors as I was a visitor in the area and had emergency surgery. You can make an experience better or worse yourself. :) :) :)

In my experience from the two surgeries I have recently had at MatSu Regional- I have been very impressed. From the beginning in admittance, to the end at discharge, there was not anything that was overlooked on behalf of my care. Truthfully, the nurses at each stage of the operation were amazingly kind, intelligently proficient and incredible personable. They made me feel at ease when surgery loomed ahead. In a world where unkindness reigns, and a nurse often sees nothing but a screen in front of them, these nurses rise above and see the people. I would highly recommend this facility for others.

I had a reverse shoulder operation performed Dec 23. The whole process was excellent. Registration was easy and painless. The pre surgery team was excellent, very experienced and efficient. Dr. Haggerty and the surgical team did an amazing job. I have no pain as a result. The recovery team kept me comfortable. Thank you.

Overall the experience at MatSu Regional was positive. I was there on an emergency situation and most of the staff made me feel safe, important and went above and beyond with the care I received. My night nurse in the ICU, Isabella, was the most kind/caring/thoughtful person! I am not sure how I would have made it without her care, compassion and understanding. The ER staff, Dr Dau, the cardiologist, nurses, lab technicians etc all were great.
