Mercyhealth Hospital and Physician Clinic–Crystal Lake (Emergency Department)

Felt rushed out and not listened to as soon as i mentioned having a women’s health issue they acted so cold and would not give me an ultrasound when I asked for one the Doctor told me “we don’t do that here for that” as if it’s not a hospital?? and it seemed like he thought it was funny when he could see I was getting mad. They kept asking me why I didn’t go to my doctor first even after I told them my doctor was the one who told me go. The male doctor interrupted me multiple times before I could tell him all my symptoms too. Horrible bed side manner and i’ve never left feeling so humiliated in my life.

The nurses and doctors here have been good, but unfortunately the rudeness of registration and stress they have caused on multiple occasions that I have been here has been horrible. The same woman was one of the staff on duty on multiple occasion when I experienced this. Today, within an hour, they came into my room twice asking for payment and a 3rd time before I barely stepped out of my room, which is a small co-pay. The first time they came into my room and asked I said I would stop and pay on my way out which is the normal routine at any doctor. The same woman came into my room again about an hour later when I’m lying there only in a hospital gown, hooked up to an IV, my purse buried under my jacket and clothes, and asked for payment again because she said it was getting busy. On February 10th, I went to the Mercyhealth ER with an Achilles tendon rupture. I met with a nurturing practitioner and asked her how to treat my injury. I decided her answer wouldn't help, so I went home without treatment. However, they charged me $1,041.76 for not even providing treatment. This bill is ridiculous. This is like a hospital using its position to take money from patients. I will never go to this hospital again.

if you want actual medical care, this emergency room is not for you. It felt like everyone there got their degrees from a .com for $100. staff was dismissive of symptoms, had horrible bedside manner, kept forgetting things, and didn't have a clear methodology of treatment. i left the same way i came in and had to go to another e.r. much farther away. you're better off using chatgpt.

My kiddos and I have been here a couple times. The staff is great reception is awesome, doctors are great and attentive but the one we have loved is Jeanette.. she is wonderful, caring, sweet and comforting . She's awesome 👌
