Meridan Jersey Shore Hospital

I rarely ever write reviews but this place deserves it. Whoever the 2 women were that first help my mom were awful. I watched them just do things with absolutely no communication or warnings. She’d have her eyes closed and they’d just grab her to start an iv. Or scan the wristband. Stuck a thermometer in her mouth, do I need to mention her eyes were closed. Absolutely no warnings. Just did whatever. I understand if it was life or death, but this wasn’t the case. And no they knew she wasn’t sleeping. She had a pounding head ache. And the way some of these nurses talk about patients and EMT’s for everyone to hear is crazy. I couldn’t tell you the last time they swept. Lots of random things on the floor. The only person that I would ever come back for is Siobhan. I hope I spelled that right.

Absolutely awful. My father went in for spine surgery and had a terrible experience. Heat went out in the first room. He was forced to move from 2 different beds because they wouldnt adjust up or down. We felt like we were bothering the staff when we had question. Just and awful experience.

I was transferred from Bayshore which was a fantastic hospital (I can't say enough about the treatment and incredible experience I had there), to Jersey Shore that was just as fantastic. I felt important and special in both hospitals, and they listened to all my concerns and needs. I had a heart procedure. Yes, I do have a heart! (With disagreement from my ex-wife and her tell all lying book about our private marriage.) So, I would highly recommend either one of these hospitals. They get high marks from me. I am truly grateful for them.

I just wanted to share my recent experience at this hospital. I honestly wish I could separate the rating . I would give 3 out of the 4 doctors and one nurse on my case. I had a blockage and wound on my foot as well as possible exposure to parasites I may have ingested in a trip out of the country . I was admitted to the gastro floor for several days . I had spiked the entire bathroom due to a colon cleanse med I was given . I saw the GI doc 1 time while admitted . Two infectious disease doctors examined a wound I suspected was infected , I had some unknown debris in my foot that was excised. Both infectious disease doctors said it looked normal. I was released with no diagnosis and blockage almost as uncomfortable as I was when I came in . I ended up at RWJ where they did another catscan,

Will not be returning if I can help it. March 2018 I went to the ER for psychosis. I was forced to take potassium pills even though I told them I can't take them. So of course within an hour I was in acute pain from my reaction to the potassium and went to the Doctor I saw standing in the middle of the ER and asked for tylenol. He denied me tylenol and I returned to my cot and blacked out from the pain. Instances like this are worse than psychosis itself. I would not recommend this hospital for psychiatric care....
