Nicklaus Children's Palm Beach Gardens Outpatient Center

I’ve been to Nicklaus Children’s a few times now and only had positive experiences. My toddler needed to get checked for respiratory virus and they promptly got me in and started checking him. Nurse Joy and Rose were lovely, helpful and kind. We had to be here for a couple hours because of the treatments and they had things to keep the kids entertained and were very understanding and helpful if I needed anything while we were there. This is my go-to place when I can’t go to the regular pediatrician.

My three-year-old son was referred to Dr. Ley earlier this year when we had his three-year check up. My son has been in speech and occupational therapy since he was 18 months old for a speech delay. During this journey, we have had mixed opinions about the root cause… but it was strongly suspected that our son has oral and motor apraxia. We do not suspect our son has autism and when we asked his pediatrician at his check up, his pediatrician agreed. He made the recommendation for neurology just to make sure we were checking all the boxes medically and suggested that we may be able to get some genetic testing if that would be helpful. One star is actually to generous. I brought my young daughter to Palm Beach Gardens outpatient center for treatment of a facial laceration. Before arriving, I specifically called the facility to confirm that a plastic surgeon would be available to perform the procedure, and I was assured that they were properly staffed. However, when we arrived, the clinic did not have anyone on site qualified to treat her. Instead, we were told to go to a neighboring hospital for care. Total waste of time. To make matters worse, the clinic still billed me for the visit, even though they provided no actual treatment or service. I find this unacceptable — not only was my daughter’s care delayed, but I was also misled about the capabilities of the clinic and then charged for essentially a referral. I requ

I’m giving this facility a three out of five star rating just due to how difficult it is to actually get a hold of the right department and that when you finally do get a hold of somebody they claim to transfer you and then they bring you right back to the main page or it just hangs up on you. There’s not a direct line that you can keep to contact who you need especially if it’s an urgent matter you keep getting the runaround and it takes forever and nobody seems to have the answers when you call. The doctor we seen was helpful, knowledgeable, explain everything for me to understand what was going to happen and treatment wise but could be a little nicer in my opinion with the kids and others asking questions. We took our child in for a severely sprained ankle. After some delay, some x-rays and a set of crutches I received a bill that was so ridiculous that you could’ve purchased an expensive Swiss watch. It is preposterous, with competent health insurance, that this place would still charge many thousands of dollars for this nominal amount of service. It’s absolute price gouging at its worst! I would go out of my way never to bring my child here ever again. No parents should get ripped off like this.
