Nicklaus Children's Pediatric Specialty Care Center in Boynton Beach

Big mistake coming here. They never EVER answer their phone at the Boynton Beach location on Hagen Ranch. I’ve been transferred so many times I can’t even count. Getting through to front desk is IMPOSSIBLE! A million buttons only to be sent to a central appointment answering location, and they can’t even transfer you to a live person! If you need paperwork, just forget you literally have to waste time, request time off of work, get in your car, drive to the location, just to get paperwork that you need from them. Insane! All I literally need is an excuse letter from her school, that’s it! Nicholas children’s pediatric specialties at Boynton Beach on Hagen Ranch is too big of a location to be this far behind in 2026! Do better by your patients!

I called today at 10:25am and the lady I spoke to initially was so rude, felt like I was bothering the person who is supposed to answer the phone. Will not be going back or recommending this place to anyone. Maybe a class in being kind and helpful would help, it’s a children’s hospital after all.

Reviews on lack of empathy here are very accurate. If you want a doctor that DOES NOT care about you then this is the place for you. Doctor Juan Otero in endocrinology in particular. I arrived a few minutes late with a 20 month old and 4 month old baby and was asked to reschedule because I was a few moments late. With zero patients in the waiting room as well. Probably for good reason. STAY AWAY from doctors like this who lack empathy and understanding. They are just looking at the next patient as a dollar sign. What a shame!

Appointment was scheduled at 9am, we arrived at 9:19 am. The receptionist had an attitude to her and said she needs to ask the doctor because they only allow for 15 mins leeway after appointment time. We have 3 kids under 5 years old and one of them is a new born, so dropping off at day care + dealing with traffic (45 mins away) it was difficult to arrive exactly on time. Doctor Juan Otero refused to see us and asked to reschedule the appointment! The nescient receptionist said that by us being late we are delaying the other appointments in line… The clinic was EMPTY!!! Not a single patient!!! What type of laziness is that? When i said there are no other patients here the other nurse said “but that’s our policy…” if your policy is to alienate people and never to come back, that’s all fine.

This was the cardiology center and they were great. They did everything in office from the EKG to the echocardiogram. They was kind and gentle with my daughter and I greatly appreciated their service today. I would recommend them to any parent who have heart problems with their kids
