Penn Radiology Fern Hill

I went to Chester County Hospital to get a STAT CT scan of the abdomen/pelvis W IV contrast scheduled at 9:15pm. I get there on time around 8:40 pm because I was in a lot of pain. The Radiology waiting room was closed because they were mopping the floors. I had to wait outside on the benches to be called since I was checked in downstairs. When I was getting settled in the bathroom my boyfriend told the radiology technician I’ve been having severe abdominal pain thats not normal. The technician couldnt find my veins, I have very faint veins. Unfortunately the IV team was gone for the day, so he asked his colleague. his colleague put the iv on the side of my right wrist and it was excruciating. In the CT scan room the IV pinched a nerve. and the salt water in the IV started to burn. I start

Scheduling process was awful... absolutely awful. Inefficient, rude, and unwilling to help coordinate with my provider. Any other business with this many poor ratings would suffer, but a lack of competition means these hacks can continue talking about TV instead of meeting the low standard of care we have to be grateful for.

I’d give zero stars if I could. Scheduling an appointment is absolutely ridiculous. If your a patient in the system, shouldn’t all of your information to accessible? Unprofessional and very difficult to understand the woman scheduling the appointment. It took over 20 min to schedule an appointment. And then I was told the office wasn’t picking up. WTH is up with this?

The staff is amazing. I had very little interaction with the medical community as I was so healthy most of my life. A cancer diagnosis upended my life! When I get a PET scan I really enjoy the technicians. They answer every question in detail which calms me down. I have PTSD and medical appointments can trigger me due to being in the hospital as a child in the early 60s. Penn medicine as a whole has been the best I've experienced in my 66 years. I am so grateful to have found them.

Sorry to give a lousy review but don't even bother trying to get an xray or imaging here unless you have independent Blue Cross insurance or another insurance that is in THEIR network. I was referred by a Penn Medicine Doctor for xrays for my neck and lower lumbar because of pain & numbness and tinging I have been experiencing in hands, legs, neck etttttttttt.and was denied xrays because I dd not have insurance that was in Penn Medicine's network. I was more than willing to pay the xray bills out of my pocket but was denied anyway. I guess Penn doesn't want my business or cash & is controlled By Independent Blue Cross. I will take my cervical & lower lumbar imaging xrays & mri to another Radiologica outfit that is NOT controlled by a monopoiizing HEALTH Insurance Company
