I brought my now 6-year-old son to EmergeOrtho Wilmington after being turned away once for chronic lower back pain for the first time last year and again today. My child’s pain began immediately after a direct impact injury at age 2 (metal camper stair edge on the spine.) This has been ongoing for 3.5+ years with recurring flares and documented functional impact. All visits felt rushed and I was disappointed by the repeated assumption that he “seems fine” because he was active during the appointment. (Children can mask chronic pain in short bursts, and a brief snapshot doesn’t reflect a chronic pattern.) Dr. Demorest was wonderful when our 3 year old fractured his arm. She was very caring and was so thorough with his treatment plan!

Dr. Demorest spent so much time with my daughter today! I’ve never had a doctor so comprehensively get to know what my child was experiencing and explain the steps needed for a successful recovery. Her very pleasant bedside manner, as well as that of her assistant, we also appreciated. Very caring and very thorough, highly recommmend!
