Customer Reviews
I can’t say enough bad things about it but let’s just start with the fact that they expect you to set aside 2-4 hours for an appointment.
This poorly run office is really struggling. I had a minor eye procedure performed which took less than 10 minutes, which typically cost between $100-500 elsewhere and they billed for well into 5 figures!!! Thankfully I have very good insurance and everything was fine for me, but in the explanation of benefits it looks like they really soaked my insurer. It doesn't leave a good taste in my mouth as to the sorts of ethical shortcuts this facility might be willing to take. Generally I'm very pleased with the UPenn health system, which is why I have gone in for several visits to to the Scheie Eye Institute. But there have been hassles and bad vibes each time I've visited. When I've gone in there have been long delays, well past my scheduled appointment time, and billing on even smaller items
Booked an appointment for my daughter since March with the same doctor she has been seeing for years. On July 16 at my appointment , the day before her appointment, doctor tells me she no longer sees patients under 18. No one mentioned a thing to me even when I dropped off paperwork for her in June. Filed a complaint and been waiting since July 16 for a call back and still nothing. They are saying they have an appointment with the same doctor in Oct/ Nov but what good is that if my daughter still under 18 and has no glasses or contacts , which she needs to see.
This place is going down trying to find anothwr doctor always construction never stops park on the st and to walk to the other side of hospital because 36th st entrance is blocked.
Have been coming here for the past 3 or 4 years. Always the longest and most excruciating wait to finally be seen by the doctor. Today, in the midst of a pandemic, I am now sitting in their waiting room for an hour and a half. Still haven't seen the doctor! Atrocious!
