Shasta Community Health Center: Pediatrics

My experience with the Shasta Community Health Center: Pediatrics thus far has been excellent. Easy to establish new patient file and access care in a timely manner.

Do NOT take your kids here! I can't speak for the other doctors, but their pediatricians are the absolute worst! Where do we start?! They told our 11 year old daughter who is 4'10 and 84 lbs that she is "plump" (she is a beanpole!!!) They asked my wife and then each of our 2 daughters MULTIPLE times if we did drugs, had alcohol in the house, or had guns in the house, as if the answer would change. They asked MULTIPLE times if we take our kids to the dentist, as if that answer would change. They asked our 5 year old if she could read sentences that had words with 3 syllables in it. Absolutely apalled.... we are canceling our son's appointment and will go ANYWHERE else!

The pediatric department of Shasta Community Health is fantastic. I took my grandson in for his annual exam and I was grateful for the doctor and the overall experience.

Average experience thus far. We are never told when a doctor leaves the Pediatrics center, and once they do leave, we have difficulty getting rescheduled.

They push vaccines on you and say “just walk in” and don’t allow appointments for vaccines. I walk in and I’m told they don’t do them between 11:30 and 1pm. Excuse me? Why am I told to “walk in” and refused an appointment to be told these rules after taking a morning off of work to get the vaccines you push on me? Zero stars.
