On the plus side, they have good phlebotomists. However, this is more than offset by the way patients are treated like cattle. A number of draw stations have been shut down, forcing everyone into the remaining few. The one in question had 12 people waiting, with 10 chairs available, crammed into a small space. Some of those chairs were placed in what is obviously a hallway, making it difficult to go back and forth. Cramming many people into a small area causes stress, and the staff obviously feels it and, although they try, the stress shows.
My initial experience was not great walking in and seeing the hours had changed, but it was my fault for only looking on Google and not the St Peter's website. When the staff showed up an older woman who should have been last in line was taken first due to the staff knowing her and the rest of us were told to take a number. With a queue already there that is a little unfair since several of us arrived first. I am hoping it was because the woman has a standing appointment. The staff were friendly and fast so the wait was not long once they got to the walk ins. Lesson learned that if you have the st Pete app you can schedule an appointment.
This place should not be allowed to handle blood draws. I had one of the worst medical experiences of my life here. Two different phlebotomists tried and failed to find a vein, and they ended up sticking me in three different random places. My arm is still bruised and sore. The second phlebotomist kept asking if I had “been here recently.” I told her multiple times that I hadn’t, but she insisted that I had, even asking “where did they take your blood from last time?” It was bizarre, unprofessional, and made me very uncomfortable. How do you not listen to the patient in front of you? To make things worse, this is not my first bad experience here. The first time I came, a phlebotomist flat-out refused to wear gloves until I told her I wouldn’t let her touch me without them. That alone shoul
I always had good experiences at the Executive Park/Stuyvesant Plaza location. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there was not much of a wait-time. My PA told me last summer they were closed; I hope they have re-opened since then.
One employee working both the front check in and Drawing the Blood more than 50 people waiting I was number 41. Got there at 7am left at 8 and did not do anything but sit for an hour. St Peter's shut down labs with more and more people needing the services.
