Customer Reviews
My mom has been a patient here for about a year, having ruptured both achilles tendons, and, like other reviews, I am conflicted in writing this. Dr. Roussel and the nursing staff are great. Very knowledgeable and straight forward. The problem that we have had is with surgery scheduling. The scheduler is very rushed and impatient. Getting clearances for surgery takes a little time sometimes and this person doesn't seem to be in that reality. When things don't happen fast enough for her, she is quick to lay blame on you personally like a parent scolding a child. The stars I left in this review are for the doctor and nurses. The surgery scheduler gets an "F".
My wife sprained her ankle at 11:30am and MMI's Prompt Care team was able to get us a 1:00pm appointment. There was a bit of a wait, but the office manager made a point to keep us updated which we really appreciated. We saw a PA named Juan Woods who was fantastic. He took time to answer our questions and perform a thorough exam, but was also efficient and succinct. He gave us several treatment options and was honest about his expectations for recovery. For orthopaedic injuries, this is SUCH a better option than the ER! Highly recommend.
I’m very conflicted writing this review, but here it is: First, the good: Dr. Gwinn is an excellent surgeon. He is clearly very skilled and knowledgeable, and he immediately instilled confidence. Having this surgery was a major decision, and Dr. Gwinn put me at ease, and I believe I made the right decision choosing him for this procedure. I also have nothing but good things to say about his PA. If you choose MMI, you will likely receive quality medical care. Now, the bad: Quite literally, everything else. I have never experienced this much frustration dealing with a medical office staff. Communication is pretty much nonexistent, and when you do reach someone, most of the time they pass the buck, say your issue is not their department, and then blind-transfer you to a voicemail box. That
PA Juan Woods put me off this place. Woods is a narcissist with no discernable empathy. Talks 'at' patients instead of 'to' them. Gets defensive when asked to prescribe basic medication like ibuprofen. Conversation degraded into some bizarre 'teacher-student' dialogue. Negative reviews here are legit. I had an epiphany a week before rotator-cuff surgery; my gut told me to put the kibosh on it and I'm glad I did. Actively looking for another doctor/clinic. Side note: women at the front desk were helpful and compassionate.
If I could give 0 stars, I would! Truly a masterclass on how not to treat patients. My family member attends here for intense care controlling their health. Their medications prescription was set as "non refillable" and I can't help but feel that my family member was set for failure. An appointment was told to be made 6 months out, but the office never called to inform them that the medication was not going to be filled within the duration until the next appointment visit! Insisted blood work would be needed BEFORE the 6 month APT, but gave NO information on timeframe to get blood work done WITHIN the 6 months period of the medications, otherwise they would not be refilled... My family member will now be struggling over the next 2-3 weeks before receiving the medication and care they despe
