My Mother was there for rehab after spending 5 days in the ICU, on medication to get her blood pressure up. She had her blood pressure taken 5 times in the miserable 3 weeks she spent in this facility. When they took her BP it was with a wrist device, She received a good PT program but terrible everything else. She has congestive heart failure and very swollen legs, the only way she could get her legs up was by sitting on a wheelchair and putting them up on her bed. I was told " If you want her to have a recliner (standard equipment in all facilities) then we should have brought one in for her". This was just a small complaint of so very many. She left there in worse condition than she arrived. For the first 2 weeks I never got an update from doctors or nursing staff. Never, Never put you
Great care. Plan of care was set from the beginning. Goals were met. Family was included in the plan via meetings. Staff friendly and responsive to his needs from the CNAs to administrators. Thank you Travis, Margi, Dale, Angela, Renee, Physical Therapy staff. The only regret was that Orangeville was not my first choice and I wasted valuable time at another facility. Finally, please don’t let the look of the facility sway you. I took my father out of a more modern looking nursing home where his health was deteriorating because of the lack of of care, medically and physically. In less than 2 weeks he’s ready to come home.
My mother was just there and her third day she was not herself. 4 family members reported to nurse and just got brushed off. Had to fight with nurse practioner to draw labs and when they came back hemoglobin was 3.7. FATAL range. CNAS were great and they were saying the same things about my mother's change.
Had my Mother there for a short term rehab. it was a horror show! If you truly love someone never put them at the mercy of this place. I attempted to work with them… finding excuses for their consistent lack of caring and professionalism. But after overhearing staff discuss how to document in a patient’s record something that wasn’t done…I got her out of there ASAP! A few things we experienced…. Didn’t want to use alcohol wipes when giving IV’s, hit her knee repeatedly with tray…coincidence that her swollen knee is now being treated at Geisinger? Mom told me they stopped giving her prescription diuretics. Why would they stop giving a bedridden patient meds that pull fluid 🤔 was is because she complained after being left on bed pan for hours? Sadly, I could go on…
My dad has been in the nursing home for several years. My mother was also in with him for a while. Very happy with the care they receive there. So many dedicated staff who will even work extra hours to cover so all get quality care. So glad too the parking lot is getting fixed. Things are looking up. Great job in doing their best to keep the place covid free. I feel they do a great job keeping the place clean and a great job with the food menu. Great job too in providing entertainment for the residents. Always something going on.
