The Sports Doc Physical Therapy - Performance PT in Hickory, North Carolina

I originally reached out to The Sports Doc PT 2 years ago after seeking chiropractic care for a lower back injury. After several weeks, I didn’t find the pain relief I needed for “degenerative disc disease” & wanted a second opinion. Not only did I find pain relief, but I started working with Dr. Jacob monthly for maintenance! I like to stay competitive in athletics at age 37 & he has helped me stay moving! 10/10 highly recommend for active/athletic individuals in Hickory!

Dr Shepherd helped me through a difficult time in my life in early 2024, when I was dealing with extreme muscle spasms while going through upper cervical chiropractic care after having been out of alignment for 20+ years. I've had to essentially relearn certain muscle movements and patterns after overcompensating for far too long. His techniques and stretches were critical in me feeling closer to normal. I'm so happy to see his practice grow and evolve further since I was a patient. I'm thankful for all of his knowledge and expertise. If you're looking for a more hands on, highly skilled PT, congrats, you've found him.

Dr. Shepherd has been everything we were searching for when needing prehab / rehab for our son’s elbow. We were desperate for someone who is so knowledgeable on his specific injury and Dr. Shepherd used all the latest techniques. I woke up in the middle of the night on a Sunday and my shoulder was completely locked down. I couldn’t move it, and it was in excruciating pain. Dr. Shepherd was the first person I called and within two sessions I was back to work. I am an upper cervical chiropractor, so my practice depends on me being able to use my arms and hands. With Dr. Shepherd’s knowledge and passion he helped me get back to normal again.
