This is a review on United health care in general. Worst healthcare experiences ever. Customer service reps will transfer to numbers that are a dead end for hours without your issue getting resolved. Steer clear of this insurance if you can to save yourself :(

Customer service / Provider Services Reps are terrible they are all offshore reps. IVR system / Virtual Assistant is terrible. CSRs answer the phone and there’s dead air for an extended period of time. CSRs do not hang up the phone at the end of the call so you won’t get the survey at the end of the call. I’ve had this experience SEVERAL TIMES. U.S. Based Companies that take U.S Citizens money and receives government funding should not be outsourcing jobs. This should not be the industry standard. I would not recommend UHC to anyone

UnitedHealthCare is based in the USA, but the vast majority of calls to them go to call centers offshore. I, like many Americans, do NOT want to have to deal with trying to understand the individual on the other end of the line to resolve an issue we are having with our insurance — something many of us hate to deal with anyway. If I am going to take the time to call to resolve an issue, you can guarantee that my feathers are already a bit ruffled before I even pick up the phone. Trying to communicate with someone whose first language is NOT English does not make the matter any better. One hour and approximately 10 people later, I still do NOT have the issue of being overcharged for my premium resolved, nor have I been able to cancel my plan. Prior authorization king. You and your doctor will waste time convincing UHC to pre-approve everything! While you suffer and watch your life pass by. They say they cover everything in the policy but omit that you need pre-approval for everything in their policy. That can take up more than a year!

I have been trying to get a prior authorization done and it’s been almost three weeks now and I still haven’t gotten the approval! I’ve tried talking to my doctor and nothing! I’ve tried calling the pharmacy and nothing, so I called my insurance company which is you guessed it! None other than United Healthcare. I called and spoke to a representative and she said that she would call me back with the information I needed and no surprise there! No call back!! Now I’m having to call back again and be in hold once more! No explanation yet!! I will not be reenrolling with this company ever again! I also don’t recommend them either!! 😡
