Extendicare Riverside Place Long-Term Care Home

My mom lived here for 5 years prior to her recent passing. This is the most wonderful residence for long term care. The staff treated my mom, myself and my two sisters like family. We never worried about her when we couldn’t get to see her during Covid as we each got a FaceTime call each week. The staff are all well treated by management and everyone gets along and work together as a team. Our family was very happy with the care at Riverside Place and volunteered when we could and we went out of our way to do small thank you’s for the staff especially during Covid. Anyone who was not happy with the staff and care should evaluate their own behaviour. You get back what you give!

My father has been at Riverside Place since last month. The staff are amazing, very compassionate and the food is great. It is also very clean. We do not regret placing him there.

It's a good place for the wheelchair bound. They can cart these residents into tv room for hours and not be bothered with them. Aside from administration of meds, medical help is non existent. If a resident is complaining or crying of pain, they simply shut their door and ignore them.

My father-in-law Reinhardt was a resident for many years and passed away in March 2020 just prior to COVID shutdown. His final months were absolute agony due to an undiagnosed advanced case of scabies. This was a clear miss by the resident doctor resulting in considerable discomfort. Unforgivable miss on Riverside Place. We wrote to Riverside Place after his death to advise them of Reinhardt's condition and of the entire family's disappointment regarding the poor level of medical care from your onsite physicians. We never received a reply. We have not forgotten how poorly he was treated.

I've been coming here for 2 years now to visit a friend. The staff work hard, and are always friendly. It is like one big family. Lots of activities and things to do. The food there is good. They allow for adjustments if needed. It's a very clean place.
