Greater Niagara General Hospital (Niagara Health)

I cannot even begin to describe how lame, disgusting, and sick the staff at this hospital are! In 2022, I was brought there by police while panicked and completely vulnerable, and instead of care, I was met with judgment, hostility, and incompetence. I am non-binary, and the staff treated me like I was less than human. The blonde nurse was the worst — she walked around acting frustrated I was even there, openly dismissive and rude, and completely ignored my distress. Security staff made humiliating assumptions, saying things like “he’s probably a call guy.” The nurse literally made me sit outside the hospital on a chair, exposed and humiliated, while telling me “next time be smart.” I couldn’t process what was happening — I was so grossed out and shocked by how useless and incompetent th

This is an old, extremely rundown hospital. Although a new hospital is currently being built, this one is in severe need of cleaning and maintenance in the meantime. HVAC vents are rusty, light fixtures are filthy and dusty. Staff are pushed to the limit trying to cope with lack of facilities, as basic as electrical outlets. Patient privacy curtains are torn and falling down. There is currently a shortage of pillows, bibs and lotion - we were told to bring them from home. Overall, it's pathetic. And sadly, employees' attitudes and behavior can be affected by their workspace.

Well let's start off by saying my mom had a heart attack on Friday and she's been in this hospital since then. We have been told that she was going to the st Catherines hospital to get a test done on Monday or Tuesday and nope we r still in the falls.. this hospital needs to get there patients taking care of.. I swear if this happens again and she has to go bk to this dam hospital there will be a lot of people pissed off.. Just do your dam job and make my mom better again

I recently had an Mri at Greater Niagara general, the wait was minimal and the staff very helpful. The technician doing the Mri, Deanna was wonderful and made sure I was comfortable the entire time!

I have had an appt with a psychiatrist at GNGH for months. 2 weeks ago, Heidi called and had to cancel because the doctor had a dental emergency. So we rescheduled. Now today she calls me again and says that the doctor has canceled his entire week!!!! Are you kidding me??? I'm coming to the mental health ward because I need help! And no on is willing to help me. How do you think it feels (mentaly) when the doctor keeps canceling the appts. No wonder we have such a problem with mental health in the Niagara Region. There is no one willing to help!
