Niagara Health - Fort Erie Complex and Urgent Care Centre

Place has always been great for us and our family and an absolute godsend when you have sick children and it's 45 minutes to st Catharines. The staff has always been wonderful, kind and non-judgemental for those times when you "don't know" if your issue is a cause for a visit or not. Service is usually quick. Having a local X-ray is incredible too. The bad reviews here seem to come from people who have no idea how this is supposed to work. If you're "good enough" to go home because you don't want to wait, then you probably didn't need to be there anyways. Alternatively, the doctors and nursing are busy and they aren't there to hold your hand, they have a job to do and have every reason to be direct and to the point. Thankful for these people and that we have an urgent care in the area

Where do I start. I will not tell the entire story of my awful visit at this hospital today. Let me just give you the end: When I decided I was not feeling good enough to wait and wait a few more hours and wanted to go home, I asked the nasty security guard to take me to the nurse to sign the discharge. He did, and he told the nurse who was inside the office that I wanted to leave. The nurse did not even bother to come out and at least look at me to identify me. She just yelled: "She can go!" I said I want to sign the discharge document. She came out and said again, You can go! I said no, I want to sign the discharge because this is protocol. She looked at me as if I was some kind of simpleton, and replied that she would enter it in the computer. Again, she did not verify my identity, chec

I was at the Fort Erie urgent care yesterday Dec 7th and I waited from 1130am-5pm before I could even get out of there. Dr Hoosen put us in a room and we had to wait till almost 4 oclock to be seen, then I had to do chest xrays and then we had to wait for the DR again. I was trying to talk to him but he was in too much of a hurry. So my recommendation is to go right at 10am which we didn't do. We had to pay $27 just in parking and we still ended up getting a ticket.

Every time I've went to Fort Erie Urgent Care I was treated quickly and treated with respect by caring, knowledgeable nurses and doctors. It needs to have Urgent Care restored 24/7.

Very long wait time - registered at triage by 10:30 and wasn't seen till 3:30 - but exceptional apologetic staff and thorough doctor examination made the overall experience a positive one.
